Pelikan M200 Nib Unit — Italic Broad (Discontinued)
A complete drop-in nib unit for Pelikan's 200 series, in the discontinued Italic Broad width. Pelikan no longer produces this grind, which makes it the hardest of the M200 widths to find. Despite the name it behaves more like a stub than a true italic: the corners are softened rather than left crisp, so it gives line variation — wide on downstrokes, narrow on cross strokes — without the sharp edges that make a true italic unforgiving to write with.
The unit includes nib, feed, and collar, and screws straight into any 200-series pen. It also fits the M400 and M600, which makes it a way to put an italic in a gold-nib Pelikan without buying a gold italic.
What makes it special
- Discontinued width: Pelikan no longer makes the Italic Broad in the 200-series steel nib
- Stub-like grind — real line variation, but forgiving enough for everyday writing rather than calligraphy only
- Complete unit (nib, feed, collar): unscrews and swaps in minutes, no tools
- Gold-plated steel, matching the gold trim on the M200 and the special editions
- Also fits the M400 and M600, a cheaper route to an italic in those pens than a gold nib
- Lets one pen carry several widths — swap by mood or task
