Octopus Fluids Document Inks are pigmented, document-proof fountain pen inks developed for professional use — signing official documents, certificates, and anything meant to last.
These high-quality writing inks are developed and manufactured with the utmost care in their laboratory in Dresden. Where the Classic inks are built for color and shading, the Document Inks are built for permanence: waterproof, lightfast, smudge-resistant, non-erasable, and resistant to ethanol, hydrochloric acid, ammonia, bleach and most other chemicals.
All nine colors in the range have been independently tested by the PTS — Papiertechnische Stiftung Heidenau — and certified to meet DIN ISO 12757-2. That certification satisfies the German service regulations for notaries (DONot), the requirements of the state ministries of justice, the Bundeshaushaltsordnung, the Dienstanweisung für das Standesamtwesen, and the requirements of the Bundesärztekammer. If a signature has to hold up, this is the ink for it — and it’s equally at home on anything you want to keep: archival notes, journals, letters meant to outlast you.
The ink is pigmented with finest-grade pigments for a strong, dense typeface. Octopus formulates the Document Inks with less binder than their Write & Draw inks, which keeps the flow consistent and makes cleaning the pen easier. Even so, pigment ink should not be left to dry in a fountain pen — flush the pen thoroughly before any extended period of non-use.
