Excellent all around

I've been using this notebook for the last couple of months as a sketch book. I have a lined version that I use for recording recipes. I use fountain pens to write in them both. The things I love most about these notebooks:

1. The Mitsubishi bank paper is smooth and doesn't bleed or feather.
2. The books lay flat. That doesn't just make them nice to write in, but easy to read when my hands are otherwise occupied.
3. The covers seem reasonably durable. After a couple of months of use and being carried around in my book bag, they're showing almost no wear.
4. The spine is likewise durable. No pages or signatures are coming loose.

I can't find any flaw with these notebooks. They're on the pricey side, but they're only pricey for notebooks, not pricey in the grand scheme of things. I can't say they're durable under all conditions - I've yet to drop one in the dog's water bowl or try ripping pages out of it - but for regular use by reasonable adults, I think they'll hold together longer than I will. I should probably buy a dozen just in case Blake decides to stop selling them or closes shop to pursue other interests. I like them enough that I'd be bitterly disappointed if I couldn't get them anymore.

Aside from the notebooks, I have to say how much I like The Paper Mind. In the last couple of years I've had some unhappy experiences with poorly wrapped packages and the lack of care taken by the USPS, UPS and FedEx. These notebooks were well and expertly wrapped, and if they'd been damaged, it would only have been because of deliberate malice by the carrier. The best way I have of judging the quality of service of a mail-order company is the care they take in getting their product to me. I've received some products in good shape only by the grace of God and no thanks to the shipper. The Paper Mind relieves me of the burden of lighting candles and pestering God about the safety of my notebooks so I can instead pester Him to intercede on behalf of my favorite sports teams. I'm sure we're both happy about that.
