I love the simplicity of this notebook: the firm (yet flexible) cover, exposed binding, and bound book mark. Exceptional in taking all my notes, this paper really absorbs the ink and has an enjoyable and unique texture. I tend to write too fast and this paper gives a satisfying feedback.
I bought a green lined journal and have been putting it through it’s paces. In response to the note you left in the journal, here is my review.
The lines are far enough apart to be usable with cursive writing, but I personally would like them a wee bit farther apart. I use very wet sheening, shading inks. There hasn't been any feathering or bleed through.
I am writing on both sides of the pages and even when I sketch an ink heavy drawing, there is no bleed through. Nice! That ties into the most impressive feature of the journal. My writing desk is an Adirondack chair on my front porch. In order to easily write on both sides of the pages, I fold the journal back onto itself to keep it a one sided writing surface. If that's not clear, my previous was wirebound and I would fold it to lay flat with one page to write on. Your journal takes this wicked abuse and the pages are still attached and not falling out. Suprising and impressive.
The paper has a bit of texture, not slick like Tomeo River, but the feedback is a bit more to my liking. The is a very small difference in how the paper displays the ink characteristics compared to Tomeo, but the difference is minimal. No complaints for shading, shimmering and sheening inks. In a nut shell,
The journal was a bit costly, but I got what I paid for. It is a qauality journal that is better than I expected. Kudos to you and your team
This is a beautiful notebook, but nowhere in the description does it tell you this is a softcover notebook. I was just surprised when I received it. I feel it should be noted in the description. Not a huge deal, but for someone who wanted this for writing on the go, and not always on hard surfaces, it was a mild disappointment to be surprised.
I am a quarter of the way through to my notebook for journaling, and am surprised at the quality and details included in the journal. Once you go fountain pen, you start becoming VERY picky about paper and such things. One of my favorites has been the Midori MD notebooks, and the bank paper journal is like a high end version of it. Slightly better binding (similar binding lay flat style btw), more paper and the quality of paper is insane. The bank paper has some feedback to it, and a surprising amount of shading and shimmering comes through if your ink is capable of course. I already have a blank notebook on deck when this one is filled.
Great paper quality. It’s nice to find quality writing paper.
