The WP Finewriter is the premium, metal-bodied version of Kokuyo's Finewriter — a pen built around an unusual writing tip that doesn't fit the familiar ballpoint, gel, or rollerball categories. Rather than a metal ball or a fiber felt tip, it uses a molded resin point with microscopic internal slits that carry ink to the paper by capillary action — the same physical principle a fountain pen feed relies on. It writes with very little resistance and a degree of line variation, here in a machined silver body rather than the standard plastic one.

What makes it special
- Resin capillary tip — a molded plastic point with internal slits that feeds ink directly onto the paper, effectively its own category between a fineliner and a fountain pen
- Slight tip flex — the bullet-shaped point gives a little under pressure, producing line-width variation most non-flex pens can't
- Writes cleanly even at low holding angles, so grip can change with the task
- The capillary feed gives a light, low-drag glide that suits long journaling or note sessions
- Premium machined body, a step up from the standard plastic-bodied Finewriter

I’ve been using this for a few days & knew it was a gamble when I ordered it but had heard so much about this particular pen I had to try it out. It’s an okay writer & with some use it might improve for me. Saying that I am primarily a fountain pen writer.
