This is a laudable example of office bookery. Every bit the equal of Boorum & Pease and a head above National. The paper is dignified in weight and color, and treats well both ink and hand. While it does not of itself lay perfectly flat, I never expected it to given its style of binding; however, the quality of the ledger’s paper and security of that same binding hold the hand while writing and maintain a steady surface. And yet this is not an over-complicated bit of bookery. It is simply an exemplar of a book bound well, with care, using quality materials. It is a credit to both manufacturer and retailer. - JMW
