I’m embarrassed to say how many notebooks I’ve tried. I’m done now. This fulfills all my needs: no bleed through, feathering or ghosting even with my wettest broadest fountain pen nibs. Lays flat from first to last page. Even does well with my very soft lead pencils. Not too many pages. I have literally thrown away all my other notebooks. Grand slam Blake!

Solid notebook, great paper

The notebook is really well-made, a lot of thought obviously went into the design. It’s pleasant to use, and seems durable without feeling clunky. The paper is amazing for showing fountain pen ink properties, especially sheen. Cosmo Air Light paper is no longer being manufactured, so if you haven’t tried it, get one of these before they’re gone!

Excellent - fountain pen friendly

Fantastic

From the ordering, to the packaging, to the notebook everything was fantastic. I can’t undersell the packaging, I’m so glad that the notebooks were carefully wrapped.

The notebooks are truly hardcover, I love that, and of course the paper’s reputation precedes it. Blake and the team have done a great job, I’m definitely going to come back here for my next stationary purchase.

The gold standard

Hardcover notebooks always seem like a good idea in theory, but they're often unnecessarily bulky and heavy and they don't lay flat very well. Thankfully this notebook has the perfect balance of hardcover sturdiness and svelte portability, and the lay-flat binding is legit. Cosmo Air Light paper is unique and may be worth trying in a cheaper notebook first if you aren't familiar, since it has a couple interesting traits. The coating is smooth but does grab the nib, so the effect is almost like writing on wet paper. Also, lines are noticeably wider than on other paper (even other coated fountain pen-friendly papers). Finally, the coating is really sensitive to skin oils, so pages will often have dead spots in them if you aren't careful. The trade off is that no other paper shows off ink as well -- not just sheen, but also the shading and the richness of each color. I'm at the point where I don't like writing on other paper because the ink just looks flat. So, maybe that's another downside, that it's easy to get spoiled for all other paper after using Cosmo for a while.
