Pelikan 4001 Fountain Pen Ink - 30 ml Bottle - Blue Black - Iron Gall

Pelikan's 4001 series has been in continuous production for over 125 years. Pelikan's 4001 Blue-Black is quietly one of the most respected inks in the fountain pen world. It contains a small amount of iron gall, giving it meaningfully better water and light resistance than the rest of the 4001 lineup — your writing won't wash away in a spill or fade on a shelf. The color itself lands on the blue side of blue-black with attractive shading that shifts from a lively midnight blue to softer blue-grey tones depending on your nib and paper. Like the rest of the 4001 series, it runs dry, which makes it especially well-suited to wetter-writing pens like Pelikans and keeps it well-behaved on cheaper papers

Thanks to the special ingredients in the formula, it can be used in both piston and cartridge fountain pens. Over time, the color of the ink changes from blue-black to gray, though the ink will always remain visible.
