Leaving this review here because I genuinely like this product, and would love to see it iterated on and improved. Just to caveat, I use this paper mainly for fountain pens.
Positives:
+++ Colours were so vibrant. It was unbelievable how nice the colours in fountain pen inks come through. The vibrancy, the richness and the shading all came through nicely. It even beats out some paper such as Iroful, and is certainly ahead of the modern Tomoe River paper in terms of vibrancy.
++ No bleedthrough, and only very minor ghosting. The paper was sufficiently thick enough to allow for comfortable use of both sides.
+ Crisp lines. The lines laid on the paper were nice, sharp and well defined. Only on the most aggressive inks (Monterverde) does it feather.
+ Line spread. This could be a negative for some, but I like it as it allows my finer nibs to showcase the ink better.
Negatives:
- The binding on some pages is off, they're glued together at a portion a bit more than the seam and thus those particular pages don't open up fully flat.
- The paper can feel off in some aspects. Rather than a smooth glide across the paper like Tomoe River, it's akin to Iroful where there's a slight resistance to the paper, that can very slightly pull back on the pen as one writes.
- - Bit pricey, roughly double in price to equivalent alternatives.
