I picked this up because Blake said it’s a Cosmo Air paper substitute. It feels pretty smooth, but I’ve noticed that it softens a lot of the pen and ink effects. For example, when I use my fountain pens, I usually see some variation in line width on other papers. But on this one, most of those variations disappear, and all my nibs look pretty uniform. I think it’s a fantastic notebook for jotting down notes, but I didn’t really enjoy using it as my daily journal. I love experimenting with different pens, nibs, and inks, and this paper just didn’t quite feel right for that.
great quality product
Writing on this paper is like driving a luxury vehicle. When the nib hits the paper, it reminds me of Graphilo paper. There is some line spread like Cosmo Air Light, but that’s not a big deal to me and was expected based on reviews. I had no bleeding and minimal ghosting using the other side of the paper with ease. It lays perfectly flat and I really enjoy the minimalist look to the Paper Mind notebooks. Nice, white color. The only thing I would like to add would be grid or dot grid notebooks to the lineup. I will be purchasing another one when I fill up this one. Very happy.
1. The notebook lays perfectly flat
2. Very smooth paper, the nib glides
3. No bleed through, and virtually no ghosting
4. Paper does a nice job with showing ink shading
5. Line spread is significant. Turns a fine to a medium
This is great paper for someone who enjoys bolder lines, but I tend to toward a finer line and find with this paper my loops fill in. Because of my preference for fine or extra fine nibs this paper would not be the best choice for my everyday writing.
Great notebook! Does very well with fountain pens.
